Installing a license key results n the key being stored in the Windows registry in either HKLM, HKCU, or both. This is the process of passing a license key (as a file or string) to any of our products. Getting a fully licensed instance of the software is a two step process, the key must be installed on the device and subsequently activated by every user. The process of installing/applying a license key to a device is distinct and separate from activating it for users. Activation involves setting a flag in a user's HKCU registry, as such can only be done as the target user. It cannot be done for "All Users" on a system under any circumstances. The license keys for PDF-XChange software are assigned a specific number of users, and each user is permitted to activate the license on two machines - a desktop PC and a laptop/touch-based device - provided that they are the primary user of both machines. I have reached the maximum permitted number of activations for my license key and would like to remove a machine from my license in order to free up a space for a new machine.
